In my counselling work I have worked in an agency providing counselling to survivors of sexual abuse and an agency offering counselling to the local community. I have counselled clients through a wide range of issues including low self esteem, relationship difficulties, poor self image, substance misuse, living with ADHD and autism, suicidal feelings, childhood neglect and abuse, domestic abuse, feeling stuck, anger and living with health conditions.
In my working life I’ve had various roles supporting people who are homeless, I’ve worked for Women’s Aid, in community development, with young people in the care system and with adults with mental health issues and learning disabilities.
It’s a brave step to reach out to begin counselling, and you may feel nervous or wary. We can all struggle at different points in life, and seeing someone we can trust and feel safe with is a good starting point for counselling. I aim to offer a warm, welcoming space where you hopefully can feel able to express your true self.
Contact cath@cathpricecounselling.co.uk or call me on 07938 098414 if you have any questions about how counselling works, or if you want to see if you feel comfortable talking with me - which is really important. It is very common to feel nervous or vulnerable starting counselling and I’m happy to discuss any worries or questions you may have before you decide to book a session. You can also find out how I work and what a session may feel like.
I offer a free 20-minute call either on the telephone or online depending what you feel happiest with. This gives us a chance to discuss the reasons you are thinking of starting counselling, whether it would be helpful for you. Importantly it gives you a chance to see whether I feel like the right therapist for you. Our call also gives me a chance to find out more about you the issues you want to explore and talk about my approach to counselling and if I feel I may be able to help.
If you want to find out more then please get in touch at anytime. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
