I aim to provide a warm, safe space to help you feel comfortable talking about your life. In time this can lead to greater self understanding and making new choices. Every client is a different person with unique life experiences and by drawing on a range of approaches, I can tailor my counselling for your specific needs and goals.
Through our sessions we reflect on, and explore the difficulties or problems you are experiencing. Together, we build a strong working relationship based on empathy, trust and integrity, so you feel completely comfortable exploring your struggles, thoughts and feelings with me without any pressure and at your pace.
By working together in this way you may gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, and become more in touch with feelings that can then be processed. You are in control of the pace and direction of each session; so your thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

I use a person-centred approach to all my counselling which means that you - the client - are at the centre of our counselling journey.
You lead the way during each session and bring whatever issues you want to discuss or share to each session. You are in control of your journey and we go at your own pace. Together, we build a strong trusting relationship so we can fully explore your feelings and thoughts. I actively listen to you to understand how the world works and feels from your point of view which may include looking into your past.
Person-centred therapy focuses on getting in touch with your authentic self and maximising your ability to find solutions with the right amount of support from me. During our sessions, you will gain greater insight and self-awareness to help you achieve your goals and full potential.
The goal is to help you recognise recurring patterns and explore new ways of being in the world. We explore your unconscious thoughts formed throughout childhood and how this may be affecting your behaviour and thoughts today.
By recognising recurring patterns, bringing them to the fore you can understand the challenges you face much better. Together, we explore them deeply, so that you can untie the knots and get clarity from your past. This helps you move forward in a positive way and achieve your potential.

Contact cath@cathpricecounselling.co.uk or call me on 07938 098414 if you have any questions about how counselling works, or if you want to see if you feel comfortable talking with me - which is really important. It is very common to feel nervous or vulnerable starting counselling and I’m happy to discuss any worries or questions you may have before you decide to book a session. You can also find out how I work and what a session may feel like.
I offer a free 20-minute call either on the telephone or online depending what you feel happiest with. This gives us a chance to discuss the reasons you are thinking of starting counselling, whether it would be helpful for you. Importantly it gives you a chance to see whether I feel like the right therapist for you. Our call also gives me a chance to find out more about you the issues you want to explore and talk about my approach to counselling and if I feel I may be able to help.
If you want to find out more then please get in touch at anytime. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
